Grand Duke Guillaume and Grand Duchess Stéphanie will be in Metz next week for the Papal Apostolic Journey to France.
Pope Leo XIV’s fifth Apostolic Journey is drawing tens of thousands of the faithful to sites where the Pope is expected to visit in the coming days. This week, the Maison du Grand-Duc announced that the Grand Ducal Couple will be joining those welcoming the Holy Father to France.
On Monday, 28 September, Grand Duke Guillaume and Grand Duchess Stéphanie will be in Metz for the Papal Apostolic Journey to France. The Pope is paying a five-day visit to the republic under the motto: “That the world may have life.”
In the morning, President Emmanuel Macron and Madame Brigitte Macron will welcome the Grand Duke at the Metz Convention Centre. Grand Duke Guillaume will attend “At the Roots of Europe for Peace and Unity,” during which the Holy Father will deliver an address. This meeting will notably be an opportunity to pay tribute to the memory of Robert Schuman, one of the founding fathers of European integration.
In the afternoon, the Grand Ducal Couple will proceed to Metz Cathedral and attend Mass celebrated by His Holiness Pope Leo XIV.
The Grand Ducal Couple recently visited the Vatican this past January.
