Grand Duchess Maria Teresa has a personal request ahead of a lovely milestone.
The personal Instagram account of Grand Duchess Maria Teresa posted a message this Tuesday. The former Grand Duchess of Luxembourg has requested “personalised messages” ahead of her 45th wedding anniversary to Grand Duke Henri this Saturday, 14th February, which happens to fall on Valentine’s Day.
On Tuesday, the Instagram account of Grand Duchess Maria Teresa stated:
Next February 14, Grand Duke Henri and Grand Duchess Maria Teresa will celebrate 45 years of marriage, the perfect occasion to send them personalised messages they’ll love! For that, PM this account [@grandeduchesse_mariateresa]: messages will be forwarded to the Grand Duke and Grand Duchess.
In February 1981, the then-Hereditary Grand Duke Henri married Cuban-born Maria Teresa Mestre at the Notre-Dame Cathedral in Luxembourg City.
Henri reigned as Grand Duke of Luxembourg for 25 years until his abdication in October 2025, after which their son, Guillaume, succeeded him.
Grand Duchess Maria Teresa was most recently in the press for undergoing a scheduled procedure that required the use of crutches.
