When the Dutch Royal Family undertook their annual photo session, their beloved dog stole the show.

The poodle, Mambo, ran in the yard and then marked his territory on a nearby tree.

King Willem-Alexander, Queen Máxima, Princess Amalia, Princess Alexia and Princess Ariane then lined up for the photo session. Mambo is also featured in several photos. Queen Máxima was also seen bending down to pet him several times and told the media: “He wants to play.”

The King even joked about a ‘men’s photo” and picked up little Mambo for a solo shot.

Mambo joined the Royal Family in 2021 after Princesses Amalia and Alexia left home for school.

The family held the photo call at Het Begijnhof in Amsterdam on 29 November. The Dutch Royal House explained that the location was chosen because Amsterdam is celebrating its 750 anniversary as a city. Het Begijnhof is one of the oldest locations in the Dutch city and has been in existence for 600 years.

The King, Queen, and their three daughters participate in two photo sessions with the press each year.
