Do royals celebrate Halloween? The Royal News Organisation explains below:
Halloween is a popular holiday on both sides of the pond, and some royals take part in the action.
The most well-known royals who mark the holiday are the family of Princess Madeleine of Sweden, who lived in the United States for many years. It became a tradition for the Princess to share a Halloween photo on her social media of her three children, Princess Leonore, Prince Nicolas and Princess Adrienne, in costume. She and her husband, Chris, also get in on the action in the annual photos.
Even after moving back to Sweden, the family still marks the holiday with a photo on Princess Madeleine’s social media.
The three children of the Prince and Princess of Wales are known to take part in Halloween. In 2023, Catherine took Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis trick or treating in London. The Princess of Wales was also seen buying her children Halloween costumes in 2019.
Princess Eugenie has also shared photos in the past of her children in Halloween costumes, and both she and her sister, Princess Beatrice, have been spotted at Halloween parties over the years.
As Halloween is highly celebrated in the United States, it’s expected that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s two children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, will also participate in the fun. However, don’t expect any photos to be released of the young royals.
A Happy Halloween from all of us here at the Royal News Organisation!
