Crown Princess Victoria was celebrated on her 48th birthday on the island of Öland in Sweden.

As is tradition, Victoria Day started at Solliden Palace where the Crown Princess was joined by her parents, husband and children to greet the public in the gardens.

King Carl Gustaf led the crowd in cheers for his eldest child, and the Borgholm Cultural School children’s choir performed.

The Armed Forces also saluted their future monarch with 21-gun salutes from “Skeppsholmen in Stockholm, Kungshall in Karlskrona, Skansen Lejonet in Gothenburg, Kusthöjden in Härnösand, and from a mobile salute battery at Kvarnängen in Boden,” the Royal Court said.

After greeting the public, Victoria and her husband, Prince Daniel, rode in a carriage with their two children, Princess Estelle and Prince Oscar, to the Borgholm Castle ruins for the annual Victoria Day Concert.

The King and Queen Silvia were also in attendance at the concert alongside Prince Carl Philip, Princess Madeleine and Chris O’Neill. The concert was also used as a fundraiser for the Crown Princess Victoria Fund for her namesake foundation; the Crown Princess Victoria Foundation helps children with disabilities or chronic illnesses in Sweden.

Lisa Nilsson, Peter Jöback, and Peg Parnevik were some of the performers before Victoria took to the stage.

Each year, the Crown Princess presents the Victoria Award to a deserving Swedish athlete who has performed well for Sweden over the past year. This year, the prize went to beach volleyball players David Åhman and Jonatan Hellvig. They were the first Swedes to win gold in the Olympics for beach volleyball in Paris 2024.
