Crown Princess Victoria of Sweden attended the final of the yearly Eurovision contest on 11 March in Malmo, Sweden.

As the programme began on television, the heir to the Swedish throne welcomed everyone to Sweden and wished the contestants good luck in the final.

Victoria recorded her welcome remarks in the Gustav III’s Antiquities Museum on the Bernadotte Floor of the Royal Palace.

She didn’t just stop at recording a video as she also attended the competition in person and was seen clapping as Switzerland was announced as the winner.

Sweden, as the 2023 winner, hosted the 68th Eurovision Song Contest – 50 years after Swedish band ABBA brought the Eurovision title back home to Sweden in 1974.

ABBA has a special relationship with the Swedish Royal Family as ABBA first performed their hit song “Dancing Queen” at the gala performance on the evening before the wedding of King Carl Gustaf and Queen Silvia. They even dedicated the song to their new queen.
