Crown Princess Mette-Marit of Norway has postponed her trip to Paris to cheer on the Norwegian athletes at the Summer Olympic Games.

The Crown Princess was due to travel with her husband, Crown Prince Haakon, to the French capital on 6 August. However, when the heir to the throne appeared in Paris, he was without his wife.

The Royal Court confirmed to Norwegian magazine Se og Hør: “The Crown Princess has temporarily postponed her departure and hopes to travel down later.”

They did not provide any details on her exact date of travel or if she remained in Norway due to her health. Crown Princess Mette-Marit was diagnosed with pulmonary fibrosis in 2018, and she announced that she would have to limit her official royal duties to prioritise her health.

The Crown Prince Couple were originally scheduled to be in Paris for the Olympic Games from 6 to 10 August.
