The Grand Ducal Court’s abdication schedule has been released in Luxembourg.

Grand Duke Henri will officially abdicate in favour of his eldest child, Hereditary Grand Duke Guillaume, on 3 October 2025. Now, the Grand Ducal Court has released the schedule of events.

The abdication will take place at 10 am on 3 October, and Guillaume will be sworn in the following hour.

By 12:15, the Grand Ducal Family will appear on the balcony of the Grand Ducal Palace. An official welcome, meeting of the new Grand Duke of Luxembourg, reception and gala dinner will follow throughout the day.

The first full day of Grand Duke Guillaume’s reign will consist of five visits to display the diversity of Luxembourgish society.

Then, on 5 October, a Te Deum will take place at Notre-Dame Cathedral of Luxembourg in the morning.

Guillaume’s official monogram was released last week. More information on the monogram can be found here.

It will formally be used from 3 October 2025.

Guillaume has been serving as Lieutenant Representative (or Regent) since October 2024.
