Queen Mary of Denmark has shown her support for her fellow Aussies after a terror attack devastated her home country.

The Queen, dressed in mourning black, attended the Into Change Award & Into Innovation Award at the Opera House in Copenhagen.

Queen Mary briefly spoke to the press regarding the terror attack at Bondi Beach on Jewish people celebrating the first night of Hanukkah.

“Our family is deeply affected and shocked by the brutal attack on Bondi Beach,” she said.

She added, “Our thoughts and deepest condolences go out to all those affected, the Australian people and the Jewish community.”

At least 16 people, including one of the terrorists, were killed, with many more injured.

Mary was born and raised in Australia and met her husband, King Frederik, at the Sydney Summer Olympics in 2000. She and her family often travel to Australia to spend time with her family, including Christmas every few years.
