A new stamp has been issued to mark the beginning of the reign of King Frederik X of Denmark.

PostNord, the Greenlandic Tusass and the Faroese Posta are set to issue a new stamp for the new monarch.

PostNord will release the new stamp on the King’s birthday on 26 May.

Ella Clausen designed the stamp which features a photo of the King in uniform taken by Steen Evald. The King’s monogram and the country’s name (Denmark, Greenland or the Faroe Islands) also feature.

The Royal House revealed that the stamp will be able to be used for international shipments.

This is not the first time King Frederik has appeared on a stamp. He has been on stamps several times, including as a child, his 18th birthday, Queen Margrethe’s jubilee, and the Crown Prince Frederik and Crown Princess Mary’s Foundation.
