King Frederik X of Denmark has been proclaimed King from the balcony of Christiansborg Palace.
His mother, Queen Margrethe II, abdicated an hour ago after a reign of exactly 52 years.
King Frederik was proclaimed King by the Prime Minister and then gave a short address to the crowd below.
Following his speech, 3 x 27 shots were fired from the Sixtus Battery.
