As the Danish Royal Family hosts their annual New Year levees, one princess was noticeably absent from this year’s celebrations.
Princess Isabella, the daughter of King Frederik and Queen Mary, turned 18 in April and could have attended this year’s events. However, she has not been seen at the celebrations at Amalienborg Palace.
The explanation for this is simple.
According to the Danish media, Princess Isabella hasn’t attended because they have not yet decided if she will be a working royal.
Natasja Crone told TV2 that the decision has not yet been made, and that is why the Princess is absent.
Princess Isabella is second in the line of succession and is currently finishing high school. Her older brother, Christian, is the Crown Prince of Denmark and did attend the celebrations this evening.
