William and Catherine remember Queen Elizabeth II

On the third anniversary of Queen Elizabeth II’s passing, the Prince and Princess of Wales visited the National Federation of Women’s Institute (WI) to remember the late monarch.

Their Royal Highnesses met with members of the institute to learn about its work in providing opportunities for women to socialise, engage in community projects and learn new skills.

During their visit to the Sunningdale location, they also met members who spent time with Queen Elizabeth II, who, herself, was a member of the institute for 80 years. The late monarch also served as President of the Sandringham WI from 2003 until her death in 2022.

She also hosted a reception for the WI in 2022 at Sandringham House to mark her Platinum Jubilee.

Catherine’s appearance was a surprise as Kensington Palace had only announced the attendance of Prince William.

About the WI, Kensington Palace said: “The WI is the largest women’s organisation in the UK and is a safe place for women to come together and engage in a range of activities, share experiences and work together to influence positive change in
their local, national and global communities.”

Queen Elizabeth II died in Scotland on 8 September 2022. She was the UK’s longest-reigning monarch in history.
