Queen Camilla made a surprise appearance at Ascot on Saturday, 26 July, as part of King George Racing Weekend.

The Queen attended the race at Ascot Racecourse to present the King George VI and Queen Elizabeth Stakes Trophy.

Her Majesty, 78, braved the spotty rain and watched the afternoon race before presenting the trophy to the jockey of the French Calandagan, Mickael Barzalona.

This was not Queen Camilla’s first trip to Ascot this year. She attended Ascot in June alongside King Charles and other members of the Royal Family for the traditional races.

The first race for the King George VI and Queen Elizabeth Stakes Trophy took place in 1951.

It has been a busy few days for Queen Camilla as she attended the Sandringham Flower Show in Norfolk with King Charles ahead of their summer holiday.
