The Princess of Wales has worn the Royal Family Order of King Charles III for the first time during the state visit to the United Kingdom by the French President.

Catherine wore the new family order alongside the Royal Family Order of Queen Elizabeth II. She was pictured wearing both family orders and the sash of the Royal Victorian Order in a photo with the Prince of Wales ahead of the State Banquet for French President Emmanuel Macron and his wife, Brigitte.

The King’s family order is on a light blue ribbon, similar to the order of his great-grandfather, King George V. It features a drawn portrait by Elizabeth Meek on an oval-framed brooch surrounded by diamonds.

The painting features a portrait of King Charles by Meek from 2005; she painted the image at Highgrove House while he was still Prince of Wales.

The Royal Family Order made its debut on Queen Camilla during the Japanese state visit to the UK in 2024. The Queen was seen wearing it as she walked through the East Gallery at Buckingham Palace with Empress Masako ahead of the State Banquet.

This was Catherine’s first state banquet since 2023. She did not attend any state banquets in 2024 while battling cancer.
