The Prince of Wales played a game of cricket on The Mall, celebrating ties between the United Kingdom and India ahead of next month’s Earthshot Prize Awards Night.

Prince William took part in a special Earthshot Prize event on Tuesday, celebrating the deep, enduring ties between the United Kingdom and India and a shared passion for cricket.

The Prince was accompanied by cricketing stars from the United Kingdom and India. On The Mall, players, partners and guests joined the informal game to celebrate the Prize’s upcoming Summit and Awards Night in Mumbai, India next month.

India is already home to more Earthshot Prize Winners and Finalists than any other country, with Mumbai hosting the largest Awards to date.

Founded by Prince William, The Earthshot Prize is the world’s most prestigious environmental award designed to identify, back and celebrate groundbreaking leadership in environmental action. Inspired by President John F. Kennedy’s Moonshot, which united millions of people around the goal of reaching the moon, The Earthshot Prize is designed to mobilise a decade of action for the planet.
