The Prince of Wales attended the Wales vs. Fiji Women’s World Cup rugby match in Exeter.

The Prince was on hand to cheer on the Welsh ladies, who lost to Fiji 28-25, in a competitive game.

The heir to the throne also met with the players after the game and gave out some hugs to comfort the losing team.

Kensington Palace later posted on social media, “Commiserations to [the] Welsh Rugby Union. You fought hard and made the nation proud.”

Prince William attended the group match at the Sandy Park stadium in his role as Patron of the Welsh Rugby Union.

The Prince first became Vice Royal Patron in 2007 before taking over as Royal Patron from the late Queen Elizabeth II in 2016.

While the Prince of Wales was rooting for the Welsh women, the Princess of Wales was on hand to cheer for the English women in their group match against Australia.
