Buckingham Palace has revealed King Charles’s official coronation invitation.
The invitation was designed by Andrew Jamieson, a heraldic artist and
manuscript illuminator. He is a Brother of the Art Workers’ Guild, of which King Charles is an Honorary Member.
The Green Man, an ancient figure, is central to the design and is symbolic of spring and rebirth. The Green Man is crowned in natural foliage, formed of leaves of oak, ivy and hawthorn and the emblematic flowers of the United Kingdom.
Several British wildflowers border the invitation and also include wildlife. The flowers appear in threes, signifying the King’s regnal number.
