Buckingham Palace has released details regarding next week’s state visit to the UK by US President Donald Trump.

The visit will take place from Wednesday, September 17, through Thursday, September 18.

The President and First Lady Melania Trump will arrive in London on September 16th. They will be welcomed by the Ambassador of the United States of America and the Viscount Hood, Lord-in-Waiting.

The state visit officially begins the following day with the President and First Lady arriving at Windsor Castle in the morning. The Prince and Princess of Wales will greet them before they meet King Charles and Queen Camilla.

Their Majesties will join the presidential couple for the Royal Salute fired from the East Lawn of Windsor Castle and at the Tower of London. A carriage procession through the Windsor Castle grounds will follow.

The King and President will also inspect the Guard of Honour before an official lunch inside the castle and a viewing of the Royal Collection items related to the United States.

President and Mrs Trump will also be given time to privately visit the late Queen Elizabeth II’s tomb to lay a wreath at St George’s Chapel.

A state banquet will close out the evening of day one. The Trumps will stay at Windsor Castle for the night.

The King and Queen will say goodbye to the President and First Lady before President Trump meets UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer.

First Lady Melania will tour Queen Mary’s Dolls’ House and the Royal Library at Windsor Castle with Queen Camilla. She will then join the Princess of Wales at Frogmore Gardens. Afterwards, she will reunite with the President before departing the United Kingdom.

The visit will be historic as no other US president has been invited on more than one state visit to the United Kingdom while in office.
