King Vajiralongkorn and Queen Suthida of Thailand attended the state banquet in their honour in France.
The King and Queen were accompanied by Princess Sirivannavari Nariratana, the King’s eldest surviving daughter. They were taken from the Le Mérich Hotel in Paris to the Presidential Palace (Palais de l’Élysée) for the state banquet hosted by the President of the Republic of France, Mr Emmanuel Macron, and his wife, Mrs Brigitte Macron.
Upon arrival, the King and Queen walked past the honour guard as the President and his wife waited to receive them. On this occasion, President Macron presented the Order of the Légion d’Honneur, Grand-Croix, to King Vajiralongkorn. Queen Suthida was presented with the Order of the National Merit, Grand-Croix.

The official dinner was held in the Ballroom.
This is the third state visit to France by a Thai monarch, following the visits of King Chulalongkorn and King Bhumibol Adulyadej. This visit coincides with the340th anniversary of the first contact between Thailand and France in 1685 and the 170th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries in 1856.
