King Abdullah II of Jordan has met with Emperor Naruhito of Japan at the Imperial Palace in Tokyo.
He was joined by Prince Ghazi bin Muhammad, who is his first cousin and chief adviser for religious and cultural affairs and personal envoy.
They discussed the long-standing ties between Jordan and Japan, and the friendship between the two families.
King Abdullah is on an Asian working tour that will also include Vietnam, Singapore, Indonesia and Pakistan. He wishes to strengthen cooperation between these countries and Jordan, particularly in the economic and investment sectors.
In Japan, the King also met with representatives of Japanese companies to discuss investment opportunities. He also met with Sasaki Mikio, chairman of the Jordan-Japan Friendship Association, and affirmed the depth of Jordanian-Japanese relations and his readiness to further develop them.
