The King and Queen of Bhutan, along with the King Father and other members of the royal family, attended the Global Peace Prayer Festival closing ceremony at Changlimithang.
The Global Peace Prayer Festival is a weeklong festival of spiritual observances. It brought together 150 eminent Buddhist masters, lamas and scholars from all around the world. There were also tens of thousands of devotees from Bhutan and other countries. They all participated in collective prayers for global peace, compassion and healing.

The closing ceremony featured recitations of peace prayers by the Mahasangha of Bangladesh and Thailand, followed by auspicious concluding prayers by Vajrayana masters.
