The hospital will be the first of its kind in the world. It will collaborate with municipalities, general practitioners, hospitals, researchers, and other partners in Denmark and around the world. It will promote new knowledge about the treatment of children, young people and pregnant women.
The hospital’s design goes beyond the traditional model. The hospital spaces are designed with a home-like atmosphere in mind, which benefits not only the patient but also their loved ones.
When still Crown Princess, Mary visited the hospital with Queen Letizia of Spain during the Spanish state visit to Denmark. Three years later, the hospital is almost complete.
