Buckingham Palace has confirmed the university plans for the Earl of Wessex.
James, the younger child of the Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh, will attend the Royal Agricultural University in Cirencester, Gloucestershire, in the autumn. His studies will focus on a future countryside career, with a major in Rural Land & Property Management.
Unlike his cousins, the Earl will not take a gap year and will, instead, head straight to university.
A Buckingham Palace spokesperson told People, “The Earl of Wessex will be going to the Royal Agricultural University to study Rural Land & Property Management. He will head straight there without taking a year out.”
The Royal Agricultural University, a leading farming school in the UK, counts King Charles III (James’s uncle) as its president.
His post-secondary plans were revealed after his A-level results were released on 13 August.
As with his older sister, Lady Louise, his time at university will be private. Lady Louise graduated earlier this year from the University of St Andrews.
