Prince Louis of Luxembourg is marking his 40th birthday today.

The Prince is expected to celebrate his day privately.

Prince Louis Xavier Marie Guillaume was born on 3 August 1986 to then Hereditary Grand Duke Henri and Hereditary Grand Duchess Maria Teresa. As their third child, Louis was born fourth in line to the Luxembourgish throne.

The Prince was educated at the Lorentzweiler School and the American School of Luxembourg. He later studied at the Collège Beau Soleil in Switzerland. He speaks Luxembourgish, French, English, and German, and has good knowledge of his mother’s first language, Spanish.

Prince Louis later took courses at the Miami University Dolibois European Centre in Luxembourg and studied for a private pilot license in Florida in 2011. He would go on to study in London at Richmond, the American International University and obtained a communication degree in 2014. He trained at the European Landowners Organisation the following year. Louis then obtained a master’s degree in psychosocial studies from Birkbeck College in London.

Louis and Tessy had a second son, Noah, on 21 September 2007. Grand Duke Henri gave his daughter-in-law and grandsons royal titles on National Day in 2009. Louis and Tessy divorced on 4 April 2019.

Louis was engaged to the French Scarlett-Lauren Sirgue in 2021, but the couple broke off the engagement in 2022.

Prince Louis now lives in Paris and works as a mediator at his company, SIBE Mediation. He undertakes royal engagements in Luxembourg when time allows, supporting the Grand Ducal Family and charities close to his heart.
