Crown Prince Haakon of Norway has given an update on his wife, Crown Princess Mette-Marit, after her lung transplant.
While in Miami for the Norway vs England matchup in the World Cup, he spoke briefly to the media about the game and his wife’s health.
Speaking about his wife, Haakon said, “Fortunately, things are going better and better now, so we are very happy about that. She has received really good follow-up from very competent and talented people on the team there. So she is looking forward to the game, she too, together with the children.”
The Crown Princess watched the game in Oslo with her and the Crown Prince’s two children, Princess Ingrid Alexandra and Prince Sverre Magnus. The latter two previously cheered on the Norwegian team in the United States during their World Cup run.
This was Crown Prince Haakon’s first trip since the Crown Princess had her lung transplant last month.
The Crown Prince also revealed that he thought Norway had a good chance to win, “It’s incredibly big and great fun that we’re here today. I think we have a real chance to win this match.”
Unfortunately, Norway lost to England in extra time 2-1.
This was the first time Norway advanced to the quarter final in the World Cup.
