The Thai Royal Household has announced that the general public can start paying their respects to the late Princess Bajrakitiyabha tomorrow.

The public can offer water for bathing to her royal portrait enshrined at Sahathai Samakhom Hall in the Grand Palace on 13 June from 8:30 AM to 12:00 PM. The offering of water for bathing is symbolic, representing cleansing. They can pay their respects at the royal portrait starting 14 June, every day from 8:30 AM to 4:00 PM. There will also be a royal condolence book at the Sahathai Samakhom Hall.

Following the completion of the 15-day royal funeral rites, the public can pay their respects to the deceased at the Phiman Rattaya Throne Hall. This will start on 27 June and run daily from 9:00 AM to 9:00 PM.

The Thai Royal Palace said the Princess died peacefully at Chulalongkorn Hospital at 7:48 PM. She died after years in a coma on life support, and a recent “severe” and “uncontrolled” infection that spread through her body only worsened her condition. The Princess suffered a heart attack on 14 December 2022 while running with her dogs in Khao Yai National Park, northeast of Bangkok. She was said to be training her dogs for the Thailand Working Dog Championship 2022, which was being organised by the Royal Thai Army.
