King Frederik X of Denmark has presented the Royal Life Guards with their new flag.

The presentation of the new flag took place at the Guard Barracks in Høvelte. King Frederik was received with a fanfare performed by the Royal Life Guards Band, and afterwards, the King inspected the guard of honour. The Commander of the Royal Life Guards, Colonel Mads Rahbek, gave a triple salute to the King.

The presentation began with saying farewell to the previous flag, which bore Queen Margrethe II’s name. The new flag was brought in, uncovered and placed in the flag cradle on the parade ground.

King Frederik held a short speech for the occasion.

Over the coming months, King Frederik will present more new flags. On June 10, a new flag and a new standard will be presented to the Guard Hussar Regiment. On June 23, a new flag will be presented to the Emergency Management Agency of South Jutland, which has not previously had a royally inaugurated flag. On September 15, a new flag will be presented to the Central Denmark Emergency Management Agency, which has not previously had a royally inaugurated flag. On October 20, a new standard will be presented to the Jutlandic Dragon Regiment.
