The Winter Olympics will take place in February in Italy, and as usual, several royals will attend various portions of the games.
Below is who you can expect to see from the royal families of the world:
Bhutan: Prince Jigyel Ugyen of Bhutan will participate in the International Olympic Committee (IOC) 145th Session ahead of the Winter Olympic Games. It is unknown if he will attend any of the sporting events that follow.
Jordan: Prince Faisal Al Hussein of Jordan will attend the IOC Session as a member of the IOC.
Luxembourg: Grand Duke Henri will attend the opening ceremony on 6 February and the closing ceremony on 22 February. In between, he will visit several competition venues. As a member of the IOC, he will also attend the 145th IOC Session in Milan from 2 February to 4 February.
Monaco: Prince Albert, as a member of the International Olympic Committee, will attend the IOC Session from 2 February to 4 February. He is expected to attend some of the events surrounding the Olympic Games, as well.
The Netherlands: King Willem-Alexander, honorary member of the International Olympic Committee (IOC) and Queen Máxima will attend from 5 to 10 February. The Princess of Orange will join them for some of the events.
Norway: King Harald and Queen Sonja will attend from 7 to 9 February. Crown Prince Haakon will be in Italy from 14 to 16 February.
Sweden: King Carl XVI Gustaf and Queen Silvia will attend from 10 February to 14 February. Prince Daniel will attend on 11 February.
Belgium: King Philippe, Queen Mathilde and Princess Eléonore will attend on 20 and 21 February.
United Kingdom: The Princess Royal is a member of the IOC and, as such, will attend the session before the Olympic Games. She is expected to cheer on British athletes throughout the event.
Princess Nora of Liechtenstein, Emir Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani of Qatar, and Princess Reema of Saudi Arabia are members of the IOC and are expected to attend some of the events. However, their attendance has not been confirmed by their royal houses.
