Queen Mary visits Danish Heart Association

Queen Mary of Denmark visited the Danish Heart Association in her role as their patron.

The Queen was at the Danish Heart Association on 13 January and met the CEO, Morten Ørsted-Rasmussen and Head of the Danish Heart Association’s healthcare services, Louise Svarre Jakobsen.

Her Majesty was given a short introduction to the organisation and its new strategy, focusing on prevention. Her visit to the organisation was not revealed on the Royal Court’s calendar ahead of time.

The Queen also spent time with three young people with congenital heart disease. She heard from them about the challenges they face.

The visit included time at the Heart Line to meet advisors who shared the experiences they have had with the Heart Line. Those working at Heart Line include heart nurses, psychologists, a dietitian and a social worker.

Queen Mary has been the patron of the Danish Heart Association since 2005, a year after joining the Danish Royal Family.
