A book on Queen Margrethe’s abdication and King Frederik’s accession to the throne will be published for free on the Danish Royal Court’s website.

KONGEORD will be published on the royal website on January 14, 2026, which is the second anniversary of his becoming monarch.

Publisher Politikens Forlag and author Jens Andersen granted the Royal House permission to distribute the digital edition of the book online.

The Royal House said, “Therefore, work is now underway to make KONGEORD available on kongehuset.dk on the second anniversary of the change of throne, January 14, 2026.”

The printed edition will still be available for purchase after the book is placed online.

KONGEORD was initially published a few days after Queen Margrethe’s abdication and contains the King’s thoughts on his royal motto, “Bound, bound, for the Kingdom of Denmark.”

It also discusses his values, how he reigns and how he represents Denmark.
