Prince of Wales to attend COP30

The Prince of Wales will attend the COP30 World Leaders Summit in November on behalf of his father, King Charles.

Prince William will travel to Belém, Brazil, on 6 November to attend the event as a representative of his father. The Prince was already scheduled to be in the South American country for the Earthshot Prize Awards Ceremony in Rio de Janeiro on 3 November.

The heir to the throne will undertake several engagements in Brazil related to the environment from November 3 to 5.

Further information on his attendance at COP30 will be announced in due course.

The Prince of Wales’s attendance was announced as he joined King Charles at the ‘Countdown to COP30: mobilising action for climate and nature in London at the Natural History Museum.

The father-son duo viewed photography by the Woodland Trust before meeting business and finance leaders to discuss how they are helping to protect the environment.

They later met the Brazilian Ambassador to the UK, Antonio de Aguiar Patriota and the Brazilian Minister of Health, Alexandre Padilha.

Films featuring the King and Prince of Wales were shown, including The Speeches: 50 Years of Speaking Up for the Planet, which looks back at His Majesty’s advocacy legacy for the planet through his speeches.

The UK government and the Natural History Museum co-hosted the countdown event
