Guillaume is now the Grand Duke of Luxembourg after being sworn in at the Chamber of Deputies.

The swearing-in ceremony took place at 11:30 a.m. local time in Luxembourg City, following the abdication of the new Grand Duke’s father, Grand Duke Henri.

Guillaume swore an oath to the Constitution of Luxembourg, which marked the beginning of his reign.

Prior to his accession to the throne, Guillaume served as the Regent from October 2024.

The new Grand Duke of Luxembourg’s elder son, Charles, 5, is now the Hereditary Grand Duke.

The Grand Ducal Family will soon appear on the balcony of the Grand Ducal Palace to greet the people with a welcome at City Hall to follow.

Grand Duke Henri abdicated just an hour ago at the Grand Ducal Palace.
