Countess Stéphanie of Lannoy wore the Lannoy Tiara when she married Hereditary Grand Duke Guillaume of Luxembourg on 20 October 2012.
Rather than wear one from the Grand Ducal Family, Stéphanie chose a more subdued tiara from her own family’s collection.
The tiara features almost 300 small diamonds, including the larger pear-shaped diamond that tops it, and is adorned with a floral design. It was made in 1878 by Altenlof, a Belgian jeweller. Her sisters and sisters-in-law also wore the tiara on their wedding days.
Stéphanie suffered a slight mishap with the tiara as it accidentally flipped over in her hair.1
