The Spanish Royal Family got their hands dirty crushing apples and making chorizos.

During their annual awarding of the Exemplary Town of Asturias 2025 Award, King Felipe, Queen Letizia, Princess Leonor, and Infanta Sofia visited Valdesoto, this year’s winner.

The royals witnessed a demonstration of “Valdesoto d’antañu,” which highlights the way of life in the parish, as well as its traditions, customs, and cuisine.

After petting some of the livestock, Their Majesties and Their Royal Highnesses saw how they transport grass around the area with oxen. They also saw the production of chorizo, with the Princess of Asturias taking a turn at the wheel.

Princess Leonor confessed, “This is something new for me.”

Queen Letizia also joined her daughter in smashing apples. The locals later said that Her Majesty was the “most active” in the parish, taking part in traditions and the like.

To conclude their visit, the Royal Family travelled to the Multipurpose Centre to see an exhibition of a wood and paint artisan workshop in Quintana Carlos before presenting the Exemplary Town of Asturias 2025 Award on stage.
