Queen Máxima and Princess Amalia of the Netherlands have attended the United Nations General Assembly in New York.
The Queen and Princess of Orange were at the 80th UN General Assembly alongside Queen Mathilde of the Belgians on 23 September for day two of the annual event.
They all greeted the UN Secretary-General, Antonio Guterres, Deputy Secretary-General Amina Mohammed, and Chef de Cabinet of the Secretary-General and were photographed with the group ahead of the main meeting.
Princess Amalia joined her mother for the first time to see her work with the UN. The Queen, who serves as the Secretary-General’s Special Advocate for Inclusive Finance for Development, will present her annual report on her work to the Secretary-General during this year’s session.
From 23 to 29 September, heads of state and foreign leaders are addressing the UN General Assembly to discuss important issues. This year, the ongoing conflict between Hamas and Israel, the war between Russia and Ukraine, issues in Haiti, and selecting a new Secretary-General are on the agenda.
