Princess Charlene focused on drowning prevention at an event in Monaco on 28 November.

The Princess of Monaco attended an event in cooperation with the Monaco Red Cross and, in a workshop, taught over 300 first-grade students how to prevent drowning.

The workshops at the Grimaldi Forum focused on understanding the danger of water and how to save lives.

The Department of National Education, Youth and Sports, Monaco Town Hall, the Monegasque Red Cross, the Maritime and Airport Police, the Monaco Fire Brigade and the Monaco Sea Academy also joined the workshop.

The Princess Charlene of Monaco Foundation has made water safety a priority and shared on Friday that there are nearly 300,000 deaths from drowning across the world per year.

Princess Charlene revealed earlier this year that the drowning of her young cousin inspired her work with drowning prevention. She believes swimming is as fundamental a right as learning to read.
