Ahead of Grand Duke Henri’s abdication in October, the Grand Ducal court has released a documentary on his 25-year reign.

The documentary was broadcast live on television but can now also be watched online with English subtitles. It is called “The story of a reign – 25 years of service to Luxembourg.”

The documentary includes some private history, such as the Grand Duchess revealing that she gifted her husband a chance to act as the Luxembourg Symphony’s conductor for his 60th birthday. This had always been a dream of his.

The Grand Duke also speaks of how proud he is of his wife, saying that she has “an absolutely incredible energy.” Their offices are right next to each other.

The documentary can be viewed here in French and with English subtitles (scroll down a bit).
