King Frederik of Denmark received the newly appointed lieutenants from the Navy.

The King welcomed the lieutenants on the royal yacht Dannebrog in the Port of Copenhagen on 18 August.

King Frederik arrived at the yacht on the Royal Barge and was then presented with the newly appointed First Lieutenants.

During the ceremony, His Majesty spoke to the members of the Navy to praise their hard work and dedication.

King Frederik has a special relationship with the Navy. While he trained in all branches of the Danish military, in the Navy, he served in the elite special operations forces, the Frogman Corps (Frømandskorpset). The Frogman Corps is the Danish equivalent to the American elite force, the Navy SEALs.

As the Danish monarch, he is now an admiral in the Danish Navy.
