The Danish Royal Court shared summer plans for King Frederik and Queen Mary this year.

The Danish monarchs usually spend the summer on board the Royal Yacht Dannebrog. The historic ship has been used since its launch, by Queen Alexandrine in 1931, by over three sovereigns, including Christian X, Frederik IX, and Queen Margrethe II.

For King Frederik and Queen Mary, the 2026 summer will be no exception.

The Danish Royal Court announced this Wednesday that the King and Queen of Denmark will commence the sailing season by boarding the Royal Yacht on Wednesday, 6th May. During its voyages, the Royal Yacht will also partake in various maritime tasks such as surveillance, sea rescue, and officer training. Aboard the Dannebrog, 37 personnel will serve their 2026 military service, with an equal distribution between women and men.

The Royal Court added:

The Royal Couple will conduct a summer cruise from 1 to 4 June 2026. The Dannebrog cruise will begin on 1 June in the Municipality of Odense, after which Their Majesties will visit the Municipality of Norddjurs on 2 June. After a day at sea on 3 June, this year’s summer cruise will conclude with a visit to the Municipality of Holbæk on 4 June.

This will be Frederik and Mary’s second summer sailing aboard the Royal Yacht since the King ascended to the throne in January 2025.
