Following the news of the death of Queen Sirikit of Thailand, royals from across the globe have sent condolences to King Rama X and the Thai people.
The Queen Mother of Thailand died on 24 October in Bangkok at the age of 93.
Below are the condolences from various royal families.
Bahrain: A private condolence letter was sent from the King of Bahrain to his Thai counterpart.
Bhutan: “Their Majesties the King and Queen, members of the Royal Family and the people of Bhutan join the Kingdom of Thailand in mourning the passing of Her Majesty Queen Mother Sirikit of Thailand.
“Her Majesty was a beloved Queen whose life was devoted to the service and well-being of her people. Her compassion, devotion, and tireless efforts to uplift communities and preserve Thai culture made her a guiding light for her nation and a cherished symbol of its spirit.
Cambodia:Â The King of Cambodia sent a condolence message, writing, “Your Majesty, I have received with deep sadness the news of the passing of your mother, Her Majesty Queen Sirikit. I would like to express my deepest condolences to Your Majesty, the entire Royal Family, and the Thai people throughout the country. I would like to express my deepest respect for the departed soul of Queen Sirikit, and may her soul rest in peace.”
Morocco: King Mohammed of Morocco’s message to King Rama X praised Queen Sirikit’s role as consort as one “with impeccable grace and devotion.”
Oman: The Sultan of Oman sent a private condolence message to the Thai monarch.
Qatar: The Emir of Qatar sent a cable of condolence to King Rama X. Its contents were private.
UAE: The royals in the UAE followed the example of their Arab counterparts and did not release their message publicly.
At present, no public condolence messages have been released by the European royal families.
Embassies and world leaders from across the globe have also paid tribute to Queen Sirikit and expressed their sympathies for the Royal Family and the Thai people.
