Crown Prince Fumihito and Crown Princess Kiko of Japan will make an official visit to Vietnam at the end of September.
The visit will mark the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the two countries. The visit is expected to last around a week, and arrangements are being made for several official events to mark the milestone.
The formal invitation was issued in early August by Vietnam. The Crown Prince and Princess last visited Vietnam in 1999. This visit will be their third official visit abroad since the accession of the Crown Prince’s brother, Emperor Naruhito. They visited the United Kingdom to attend the coronation of King Charles III last May and visited Poland and Finland in 2019.
