Prince William met with scholars and alums of The Amos Bursary in East London on Wednesday.
The Prince spotlighted the programme’s support to the next generation of Black British leaders. Through a unique five-year programme, spanning sixth form through to university graduation, the charity provides financial support, mentoring, leadership development, professional networks and career opportunities to help the students thrive throughout their careers.

Founded in 2009 by Baroness Valerie Amos and her sister, Colleen Amos, the Amos Bursary is a leading charity that supports high-achieving young people of African and Caribbean heritage to realise their full potential. Built on the belief that talent is widespread but opportunity is not, the Amos Bursary works to remove barriers and ensure young people have the support, skills, and connections they need to succeed.
We were honoured to welcome HRH The Prince of Wales to meet our extraordinary young people, patrons, sponsors and supporters. His visit during Black History Month shines a spotlight on something we believe passionately: talent is everywhere, but opportunity is not. This morning was a celebration of our students’ ambitions, their achievements and the community helping them succeed. — The Amos Bursary
