Queen Suthida of Thailand has attended the 2027 IIHF Ice Hockey Women’s Asia Championship.

Queen Suthida travelled to the Tsukisamu Gymnasium and was greeted by Assistant Professor Pimol Srivikrom, President of the National Olympic Committee of Thailand under Royal Patronage, and members of the National Olympic Committee of Thailand.

The Queen watched the match between Japan and Kazakhstan and presented the “Best Player Awards” on the ice to the best-performing athletes from both countries.

Queen Suthida serves as the International Ice Hockey Federation’s (IIHF) Women’s Global Ambassador. She has attended matches both as a player and a supporter.

In 2023, the IIHF invited Her Majesty to be its first Ambassador for Women’s Ice Hockey in recognition of the Queen’s support for and personal participation in ice hockey, which has contributed significantly to the sport, especially women’s ice hockey, in Thailand, Asia, and around the world.

Queen Suthida solo piloted the royal aircraft to Japan, departing from Bangkok’s Don Mueang Military Airport and landing at New Chitose Airport in Hokkaido. The Queen drew attention yet again as she then drove herself to her hotel in Sapporo.
