Crown Princess Mette-Marit of Norway attended the Norwegian Girls’ Choir’s Christmas rehearsals.
The Crown Princess, as patron, met the choir as they rehearsed, ate porridge and performed a concert at Ruseløkka School in Oslo.
Following tradition, the young ladies performed for each other, and the Crown Princess was on hand to witness the performance that included the song “My Heart Always Wanders,” which they sang a cappella. Anne Karin Sundal-Ask served as conductor and artistic director.
Crown Princess Mette-Marit also spent time with the girls over bowls of porridge as Christmas decorations set the atmosphere.
The Girls’ Choir is a school for young singers from the ages of 6-26 and is comprised of four different choirs: the Recruit Group, the Aspirant Choir, the Main Choir and the Studio Choir.
The girls, from Oslo, audition to join the programme. They have collaborated with the likes of The Oslo Philharmonic Orchestra, The Norwegian Chamber Orchestra, and Det Norske Solistkor.
