When to watch royal Christmas speeches

When can you watch the Christmas and New Year speeches of the monarchs of the world? We have the details below:

Christmas Eve:

Belgium: King Philippe pre-records his Christmas address in the three official languages of Belgium: French, Dutch and German. It will air on Belgian television at 1:00 local time.

Luxembourg: In this first official Christmas address as monarch, Grand Duke Guillaume will speak to the Luxembourgish people at 7:00 pm in a pre-recorded message.

Spain: King Felipe addresses the Spanish people at 9:00 pm on Christmas Eve. The speech is aired on all Spanish television channels and the Casa Real social media.

Christmas Day:

The Netherlands: King Willem-Alexander’s pre-recorded speech will air to the Dutch people at 1:00 pm.

Sweden: King Carl XVI Gustaf will speak to the Swedish people at 7:45 pm on Swedish television and radio.

United Kingdom: King Charles’s pre-recorded message will air on television and radio at 3:00 pm.

New Year’s Eve:

Denmark: King Frederik will address the Danish people live from Frederik VIII’s Palace at Amalienborg. The speech will begin at 6:00 pm.

Monaco: Prince Albert’s speech will air at 7:00 pm, and his wife, Princess Charlene, and their twins, Hereditary Prince Jacques and Princess Gabriella, usually make a cameo at the end.

Norway: King Harald will address Norwegians at 7:30 pm local time.

January 2nd:

Japan: Emperor Naruhito and his family will greet the public from the balcony of the Imperial Palace, where he will give his New Year’s speech.
