As part of an official visit to South Korea, Crown Princess Victoria of Sweden learned more about the K-pop music industry that is sweeping the globe.
The Crown Princess and her husband, Prince Daniel, visited the Korean entertainment company, SM Entertainment, to learn more about the industry and hear about the collaboration with Swedish songwriters.
The Crown Princess sat down in the recording studio to mix music and joked about messing something up, “Then I just risk erasing everything and then.. then it becomes oops oops!”
As part of their visit to the successful music company, they also met the new K-pop group Hearts2Hearts, who debuted earlier this year.
She also received dolls from Hearts2Hearts and shared that her son, Prince Oscar, loves K-Pop Demon Hunters, the Netflix movie that took the world by storm.
“Our son loves K-Pop Demon Hunters,” she said.
SM Entertainment is one of the most successful entertainment companies in Korea, with groups like Girls’ Generation, EXO, SHINee, and Aespa all managed by the company.
Their Royal Highnesses also met representatives from the film industry. K-dramas have become extremely popular over the past several years.
Swedish songwriters and producers have worked in the industry for years, and Victoria stressed that they wanted to deepen the collaboration between the Swedish hitmakers and K-pop artists.
The Swedish Royal House later shared a Reel on Instagram from the trip to the tune of another SM group, NCT DREAM’s “Hello Future.”
Crown Princess Victoria visited Seoul and Busan at the request of the Swedish government. Their visit also included meetings with the government, laying a wreath at the National Cemetery and visiting the border with North Korea in the famous demilitarised zone (DMZ).
