The Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce engagement has gotten the royal seal of approval.

American singer Taylor Swift announced her engagement to her boyfriend, American football player Travis Kelce, on Instagram, sharing photos of the happy couple.

She captioned it, “Your English teacher and your gym teacher are getting married.”

Amongst the millions of fans who liked the superstar’s post were royals.

Meghan, the Duchess of Sussex, liked the post, as did the account of the Prince and Princess of Wales.

The British royals are known to be fans of the country-turned-pop star. Meghan attended Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour Concert in Los Angeles, and the Prince of Wales took Prince George and Princess Charlotte to see her show in London.

During the June 2024 stop at Wembley Stadium, Swift and Kelce met William, George and Charlotte backstage. She also took a selfie with the royals that was later shared on her social media.

The Prince and Princess of Wales’s official account also shared a photo with the singer, saying, “Thank you, Taylor Swift, for a great evening!”

The Eras Tour wasn’t the first time the Prince of Wales met Swift. Back in 2013, she attended the Winter White Gala for the Centrepoint (William’s patronage) in November 2013. She was seen on stage with Prince William and Jon Bon Jovi singing Bon Jovi’s “Living on a Prayer” hit.
