Queen Suthida of Thailand was on hand in Bangkok to celebrate the 93rd birthday of her mother-in-law, Queen Sirikit.
King Vajiralongkorn, or Rama X, appointed his wife to represent him at the public celebrations at the Ubosot of Wat Phra Sri Rattana Satsadaram and the Amarin Winitchai Throne Hall in the Grand Palace.
The Queen was joined by the King’s younger daughter, Princess Sirivannavari.
Both Vietnamese and Chinese monks gave their well-wishes for the Queen Mother on her birthday before the Queen lit the candle on the stone pulpit at Ubosot of Wat Phra Sri Rattana Satsadaram. Suthida continued lighting candles and incense to mark the birthday.

Queen Suthida then travelled to the Amarin Winitchai Throne Hall to light the candle at the Nine-tiered White Umbrella Throne, as well as several others to worship Buddha. The monks also chanted Buddhist prayers for the birthday celebrations and offered blessings to Queen Sirikit.
The Thai Public Relations Department said that the Queen consort paid “homage at the altar in front of the Nine-tiered White Umbrella Throne” before meeting those who attended the ceremony.
The King’s sister, Princess Chulabhorn, also appeared at the Amarindra Vinicchaya Throne Hall to celebrate her mother.
