Queen Máxima donned a military uniform as she joined Royal Marechaussee students for a field exercise.

As she arrived, she also received a helmet and an emblem of the Sector Basic Training to wear on her uniform. She wore this during the entire exercise.

Queen Máxima spoke with the students, instructors and supervisors about the training and their experiences. She joined the “Care Under Fire” training, where students are asked to perform lifesaving medical procedures while gunfire is being simulated around them.

After this, she joined a class called “Handeling voor Actie” (Actions before Action), which taught basic military skills, such as applying camouflage, which the Queen applied herself.

The visit ended with a group photo, and she received a commemorative coin to thank her for her active participation.
